Time means money and deadlines are shorter than ever. Therefore, any tool that has the function of reducing your workload should be regarded as a blessing. However, most of the gizmos that you will find online aren’t free and in most cases cost so much that aren’t even worth considering them as an option. So, what can you do then? Before I answer you this question, you need to take the following advice really seriously. Therefore, if you care about your money, then you should try to avoid the so called premium stock images companies as well as those websites that promise to magically transform overnight your code into a .PSD file.

There are loads of tutorials online which are related to dynamic slideshows and image galleries. Typically web developers have been using jQuery to enhance the media in these content sliders. Many other ideas have come to fruition and this has spurred a generation of brand new plugins for jQuery developers.

In this tutorial I want to focus on one of these plugins called iosSlider. This is an open source project with numerous options for customizing your own media slideshow. This includes typical animations and effects for when the user clicks or hover over slideshow items. Additionally we will include some dynamic text as seen on the website demo. This UI style is perfect for improving the creativity of more generic or bland website layouts.

CSSmatic is a slick new site that just launched last week. It's a free toolkit that can help you save time (and money) by automatically creating the endless and complex codes that you used to have to write manually in order to apply graphic elements to your websites.

In the past we have written on Photoshop actions for touchups related to photography enhancements. But it is common for designers to release their actions for free attribution on certain projects. And many of these newer releases are difficult to track down without scouring the Internet for links!

Thus I have put together this collection of 55 fantastic new Adobe Photoshop actions for photo enthusiasts. Graphics editors will adore many of these which provide a solution for generating clean effects in many different photos. Plus each of these examples is completely free to download from the source! Most of the actions posted are from DeviantArt which keeps download links in the sidebar area. But spend some time poking around the showcase below and see if you can locate any actions which look particularly interesting.

Over the past 10 years there have been hundreds and possibly thousands of new web design blogs launching online. A small handful of these blogs are still online today, and an even smaller number are still publishing great content. As we move into 2013 it seems like a good idea to dig into the design industry and collect some of the best resources for helpful information.

In this gallery I have put together the top 100 online magazines & blogs for web designers, in no particular order. The topics range from web design to Photoshop tutorials, freebies, user experience design, and even web development techniques. I do sincerely hope this gallery may be useful for many years to come these blogs grow in popularity.

24Ways

24ways web design ui blog articles

In my list of all-time favorite blogs 24 Ways has my top vote. Many of their articles focus on obscure web development techniques which are not handled in depth anywhere else. Think of topics such as character encoding, Bootstrap tutorials, complex CSS3 media queries, and lots of other good ideas. Definitely recommend skimming their headlines because you may be surprised at the high-quality content in their articles.
